Denzel Curry recently promised to drop some new music and lived up to his word. The Florida rapper and Twelve'Len jumped on the remix for Little Dragon's single "High."

The track is reworked by Michael Uzowuru and Jeff Kleinman, who add their touches and employ Curry for a short verse. The 2016 XXL Freshman shines with a reflective verse about his career journey.

"Now who would've thought I'd make it this far/I gotta thank God for all of my stars/Under the North Star, I'm high as a solar/Rush above a cold world, the globe is whole, Lord/I'm all good, I'm alright/I go hard cause this could be my last night," Curry raps.

Curry's unexpected collaboration with Little Dragon is one of the perks of remaining independent. Last year, the "ULT" MC told XXL that such freedom is why he chose not to sign with a major label.

“I feel like I’m just staying in touch with what I’ve been trying to do for a long time,” Curry said. “Like if I went to a major, you never know, what if they don’t like the stuff I do? I could just get shelved. And then I’m stuck in a contract and I can’t leave. And if that happens, you’re gonna realize, you’re going to start hating it, so the power with being indie is you could do whatever you want. It’s freedom. Everybody wants freedom, you don’t want to be shackled, especially as an artist. Nobody wants to be shackled at the end of the day.”
