Joey Badass hits the game winning shot on "Victory," a new song featuring more than a few basketball references and some production from Kirk Knight and 1-900. The song is a part of Mountain Dew and the NBA's new collaboration, The Courtside Project, which is an initiative at NBA All Star Weekend 2017.

The track finds the Pro Era MC showcasing the verbal gymnastics and retro flow as he dribbles over an instrumental that sounds like a packed open gym. "The kid from West Brooklyn I came with the thunder/Everyday another triple double entendre," Joey raps in his first verse, referencing Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook's historic 2016-2017 season.

"Sometimes I sit and wonder how I keep from going under/But I always beat the court like Kyrie Irving at the buzzer," he continues. Joey continues the confident vibe in the "Victory" hook, saying "This feels like a victory/Competition looks slim to me/'Cause his story is history/Homie this my story."

"Victory" and its many references to basketball players and the sport itself should mesh perfectly with The Courtside Project. Joey recently gave a statement about his role in the new NBA and Mountain Dew collaboration.

"I’m excited to be a part of The Courtside Project," Joey said. "It’s the fusion of several different worlds -- from basketball to music, style and art -- that are not all separate streams anymore, they are interconnected. I always want to encourage the youth to be themselves and pursue their dreams, whether those are hoop dreams, Grammy dreams or PhD dreams."

"Victory" is a perfect appetizer for fans awaiting Joey's eagerly anticipated AABA album. You can listen to the new track below. You can listen to "Land of the Free," which is a track he dropped a month ago, here.
