2017 looks to be the year of Playboi Carti. As fans patiently wait for his first project, Carti comes through with a new record called "All These Hoes" featuring Uno The Activist and Thouxanbanfauni. The record does not appear to be from his long awaited debut, which Carti recently discussed with XXL.

“I just want niggas to look at it and say, ‘If this young nigga from Atlanta can do this, so can I,’” Carti said. “I want everybody to get money. My new mixtape is going to show niggas this is the way.”

Carti also touched on why it has taken him so long to drop an official project. The rising star explained that he's very selective when it comes to his music.

“I feel like niggas really be on my shit,” Carti said. “That’s why I’m picky about what I put on my SoundCloud. That’s why I’m taking time with my [first] mixtape. I‘m going crazy. If you look on my tracks, bro, it shows you my progression.”

While Carti's fan base is mostly comprised of a dedictated following on SoundCloud, he appears poised for bigger things. Record executives already hold the the young rapper in high regard.

“Carti is a natural born star,” Aaron “Dash” Sherrod, A&R for Interscope, said. “In the same way that he instantly takes command over whatever room he walks into, Carti’s immediate presence on the mic is like no other.”

Time will tell if Carti can live up to the lofty expectations, but it certainly looks like he's got the tools to make an impact in hip-hop.
