DeJ Loaf has been quiet for the better part of 2016. Having recently taken a leisure trip to South Africa, the Detroit rapper returns with a new track, flipping Beanie Sigel's 2004 classic cut "Feel It in the Air."

She jumps the song off talking about being stopped in the airport while returning from her trip because of the exorbitant amount of cash she was carrying. The song is one long verse which finds DeJ in reflect mode, reminiscing on past times and people.

"This ain't no easy road/This aint no easy life/Before you wish for it, you better think twice," she raps over the Heavy D-produced track.

Earlier this month, Loaf took a jaunt to Cape Town and documented her trip. “I had the most amazing time in South Africa. I have never seen a sky and an ocean so blue, or mountains so majestic,” she told Billboard upon returning. “Not knowing what to expect from a country 24 hours away, I walked in with an open mind. The things that struck me immediately were the colors of the homes, the clothes and the people. The people were also so warm and receptive. The music and food was vibrant and the children exuded a sense of independence and freedom. They were so inquisitive. I can’t wait to visit again.”

From the sounds of her latest song, the trip definitely had an affect. Loaf is working on her debut album which is slated to drop in 2017.
