Shawty Lo was laid to rest earlier today (Oct. 1) in his hometown of Atlanta. Rick Ross pays tribute to his contemporary by remixing Lo's 2006 street hit "I'm Da Man."

"I'm Da Man" is the first song that took off for Lo as a solo artist in the mid-2000s after he introduced his group D4L to the world with the platinum single "Laffy Taffy." It was off the strength of this record popping in the street that allowed Lo to gain traction as a solo act as he would follow up with the hit tracks "Dunn Dunn" and "Dey Know."

Rozay gives props to the King of Bankhead by hopping on the ATL classic. "One time for real niggas like Lo. I'm doing this one for you my nigga," the Maybach Music Group boss says at the beginning of the track before pumping drug dealer dialog over the instrumental. "Shawty Lo! Shawty Lo! I'm finna smoke one my nigga God bless your soul," he adds at the end of the verse.

Ross appeared on the official remix the original along with Lo and Lil Wayne in 2007.

The West Side Atlanta rapper was killed in a car accident on Sept. 21.

Following his wake last night (Sept. 30), Lo took one last stop at the Blue Flame Lounge. The hearse carrying his casket was spotted posted up in front of the strip club.

Lo's funeral took place today at noon at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Atlanta.
