Russ routinely racks up one million streams with each song he posts on SoundCloud. The Atlanta rapper's latest entry to his growing list of free releases is a single called "Gone." Like most of his records, this is a self-produced track. Russ definitely has talent behind the boards, but his lyrical ability is where he truly shines.

"I'm out your life but I'm still in your search bar/Still humble, still riding in my first car/Took me 10 years to get here, I work hard/From a basement, now I'm an all around the world star/Supported my dreams till my dreams supported me/Lookin at views that you don't see till 43," Russ raps.

Even though Russ signed a deal with Columbia Records, don't expect to see him rushing to drop an LP. The rapper's move away from albums to singles is what's brought him so much success. Being himself has also helped his music connect with so many listeners.

"That’s why I’m going to win, because when you’re being your true self, when you live your truth, you’re contributing something to the world that wasn’t there before," he told XXL earlier this year.

With the importance of streaming in today's music industry, Russ is poised for bigger things. The millions of plays he's getting will assist Russ in reaching the goals he's set for himself.

"[I want] to dominate everything," he said. "I want to be the best at everything—transcending genres, get the most Grammys, have the most number one singles and number one albums."

If you haven't been keeping up with Russ' steady stream of new songs, make sure to check out the track "We Just Haven't Met Yet" which dropped two weeks ago.
