Lil Wayne Disses Birdman on Solange’s New Song “Mad”
"When I wear this fucking Bird on my back like a motherfucking cap and gown/Then I walk up in the bank, pants sagging down/And I laugh at frowns like what they mad about/Cause here come this motherfucker with this mass account/That didn't wear a cap and gown/Are you mad cause the judge didn't give me more time/And when I attempted suicide, I didn't die/I remember how mad I was on that day/Man, you gotta let it go before it get up in the way," Weezy raps.
The song appears on Solange's new album, A Seat at the Table, which also features Q-Tip on "Borderline (An Ode to Self Care).” The project drops Sept. 30.
Lil Wayne's issues with Birdman have been well publicized as the two are currently embroiled in a $51 million lawsuit. The legal battle's latest development saw Weezy score a victory when a judge order Birdman to show his financial records to the court. This was prompted by Wayne's assertion that Birdman spent $70 million of a $100 million advance, which the two were supposed to share for the Young Money label.
Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince recently got involved in the feud too as he intends to help Lil Wayne get what he's owed. J. Prince has his own issues with Birdman since Prince's son Jas previously filed a lawsuit against Cash Money Records. Jas Prince was seeking unpaid royalties stemming from the fact that he brought Drake to the label.
