With gang life being the way of life in California, where you're from and who you know makes all the difference. Nipsey Hussle and Snoop Dogg set the record straight about where they hail from with the new banger "Question #1," which dropped today (June 13) on Soundcloud.

The Myguymars & Mike & Keys-produced track has optimum bounce straight out of the G-funk era and tells the story of growing up on gang battle grounds and having to know the right answers. Nipsey and Snoop tell similar tales from Crenshaw to Long Beach.

"I'm a one-away bus-catching, Blue Line train-riding West Sider with a young actress/These old rules came with no questions/Roam and live by 'em and there's no exceptions/I was young and reckless with loaded weapons/These code of ethics lead to self-destruction/When it's over you left with nothing/This life ain't it, boy, better check the subtext or the fine print/Felt entitled to this fly shit/Felt like every bad bitch should be on my dick/Felt like niggas lied to us on some fraud shit/Fuck it! That's just how the ball bounce on some Bomp shit/Right here with all my brothers on some squad shit/All money, one nation under God shit/Nipsey Hussle on some neighborhood boss shit/A.K.A. nigga born broke that'll die rich," spits Nip on the first verse. But when Uncle Snoop steps in the building? Man, listen...

No matter where they hail from, the future is bright for these two long-established West Coast stars. Snoop is once again preparing the rap world for the return of the G thang with his fourteenth album, Cool Aid, dropping right in the middle of summer on July 1. As for Nipsey, the Crenshaw kid is expecting his first child with the young actress he speaks of his rhymes, the beautiful Lauren London.
