Aaron Cohen is gearing up to drop his new EP, Off the Ground, later this week, but before that, the Seattle rapper comes through with some visuals for the titular song off it. "Off the Ground" dropped earlier this month (June 8), with Kemal's chime-like production creating a starry instrumental for Cohen to embrace.

The video for the track was directed by Tanner Jarman, whose film High Hoops recently won the 2015 Revolt Film Fest. In the new visual, Cohen is trapped in a mental institution, escaping only through his imagination.

As Cohen tells it, "The video takes place in a mental hospital, because the ups and downs of life as an artist can take a serious toll on your psyche. In order to tap into everything that inspires me, I have to sometimes let go of reality and enter the depths of my mind. Sometimes the experience leaves me feeling crazy. Additionally, pursuing a career as a rapper is not always a straight forward path. When the pressure of real life combines with a complete immersion in the creative process, some people break and some people reach new levels. The video represents my fight to become the artist I want to be without losing my sanity."

Off the Ground drops June 24 and is available to pre-order now through iTunes. The eight-track EP includes features from ABGOHARD, Mecca Shabazz and more and is entirely produced by Kemal. It will be Cohen’s third commercial release, following up 2013’s Potential Fans.
