Vic Mensa has been hard at work. Earlier this month the former XXL Freshman was spotted in the studio with the Gorillaz, and now he's lending his bars to Flume's electronic bass heavy track "Lose It." You can hear it above at around the 16:50 mark. The song was premiered, along with four other unreleased Flume tracks, during an hour-long interview.

The title is pretty straight forward with Vic all about letting your inhibitions go and being free to do whatever you want. "I know you’re terrified, ’bout what the future lies/But there’s no compromising, it’s my way or the highway/We all just play the lust, hard billion breaking trust/She gon’ get wild when we come out/Like she gon’ get loud when the weed come out," he rhymes.

The collaboration was a year in the making after the Aussie beatmaker met the Chicago MC in Sydney in 2015. Flume sent Vic a slew of tracks to choose from and the result is the instant banger "Lose It." Flume chopped it up with Triple J's Richard Kingsmill and talked about working with Mensa. "I love the energy...It's just power. I cannot wait to play that one out," he said.

It's no surprise "Lose It" is a banger. "No Chill," Mensa's collaboration with Skrillex, is just as hot. He's rumored to be working on the Gorillaz's fifth album after Remi Kabaka, the man behind the voice of fictional band member Russel Hobbs, posted a photo of Vic in the studio.

Mensa is also working on his own forthcoming debut album Traffic, which is said to feature top producers from Mike Dean to Illangelo, Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio and John Hill. "Lose It" appears on Flume's sophomore LP Skin, which drops Friday.
