The game needs cats like REKS - underground, underrated and unapologetically hip-hop. A constant on the Lawrence, Mass. underground rap scene for over a decade, he has remained consistent, even if it means straying from mainstream attention. Last blessing our earbuds with 2013's Revolution Cocktail and 2014's Eyes Watching God, the New England spitta is almost ready to release his upcoming project The Greatest X. But before that we get the single "The Recipe."

REKS taps Virginia producer Nottz to handle the instrumental which is propelled by violent violins and a slapping drum loop. REKS takes advantage of the frantic pace spitting rapid-fire bars with ease. The cuts are provided by DJ Kerosene.

The new album features a slew of dope beat makers including, Large Professor, The Alchemist, Nottz, Statik Selektah, Buckwild, Apollo Brown, Black Milk, STREETRUNNER, Evidence, The Audible Doctor, MOSS, The Arcitype, Hazardis Soundz, Numonics, Short Fyuz and more.

Providing additional bars on the LP will be fire lyricists R.A the Rugged Man, Edo G, Termanology, Akrobatik, Planet Asia, Rasco, Guilty Simpson, Reef the Lost Cause, King Magnetic, Jared Evan, Tri State, Jaysaun, Lucky Dice, Dutch Rebelle and others.

"My goal is to return to the simplicity of dope bars over dope beats formula, in a time where lyricism is lost on too many listeners," says REKS of the upcoming project. "I want my name in the forefront as the alternative to today's typical music choice."
