Dave East Puts a Price on Your Head With “Dead Man Walking”

Less than 24 hours after dropping the visuals for "It's Time," Harlem MC Dave East comes back with another hard track, "Dead Man Walking."

The Rico Suave-produced track is an instant head nodder and Dave is hungry as ever, focused on trying to make it big while painting a picture of his road from the trenches to holding it down for the New York rap scene. No topic seems to be off limits on this one. Sounding hype with an effortless cadence, Dave touches on everything from his adoration for high grade weed to his daughter - and his diamonds, of course.

"Dead Man Walking" is the latest track from East, who revisited 2015's Hate Me Now with the "It's Time" visuals which he shot on his first trip to Japan. Additionally the Mass Appeal Records signee offered his own renditions of hits such as “Panda,” “Summer Sixteen” and “All the Way Up” over the past few months. One of his more recent remixes is his own take on Madeintyo’s “Uber Everywhere.”

"Dead Man Walking" proves Dave has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. He's hit the ground running since he linked up with Nas a few years ago. Two years ago, in December 2014, East spoke to XXL about how he met Nas and ended up on Mass Appeal. “I’ve kind of known his brother Jungle just from me being in Queensbridge running around and because I have a lot of family out there. But he told me, ‘Yo, my brother feeling you' and dudes around him were letting me know that as well, but I still couldn’t believe it.”
