Good God, have mercy on our rap-loving souls. Black Thought and Styles P just dropped off a brand new collaboration called "Making a Murderer" over a funky ass 9th Wonder beat, and we need to find a seat after listening to it for the first time. Hear it up top.

It goes without saying that the track is a fucking clinic on how to spit effective, clever bars. Thought opens his verse with, "Outerspace the place that I'm parkin' in / My marketin', when you see the sky darkenin'" and it only gets better, as he seems to endlessly spit flawless lines. Styles comes on the latter half of the track, spitting cartoon references in line with his nickname, Ghost in the Shell. All of this happens over a stupid funky 9th Wonder loop that sounds like it got dug out of Madlib's record collection.

Lifetime Roots fans are praying this is the year Black Thought's debut solo album materializes. About a year ago Thought tweeted that he was working on the album, but we haven't seen much come from that since. We have, however, heard him collaborate with some heavyweight rhymers like Freddie Gibbs and Royce da 5'9" in recent times, so one thing is sure - Thought is keeping his pen sharp these days.

Whether that means we'll finally hear a solo project from Thought is yet to be seen. An album called Masterpiece Theater was first supposed to drop back in 2000, when MCA dropped the first single "Hardware" produced by DJ Krush. It never led to anything, but if you missed it hear that below.
