The winter may just be Allan Kingdom's time to thrive, as the Minnesota-bred rapper continues to unleash new music in the wake of his January release Northern Lights. His latest offering pairs Kingdom up with Texas's Kevin Abstract for "The Potion," a track that bears the same name and little else to 2005 Ludacris hit.

Kingdom's chorus orbits the Kiko Merley-produced track, with song structure and convention floating away off into the distance. "I don’t need no bullshit, I don’t need no bullshit now / I don’t need emotions, naw they get exhausted now / I don’t need your blueprint, I know what I’m doing now / I just need to focus, cause I got the potion now," Kingdom says at the song's open and close.

Previous to "The Potion," Kingdom had released the video for "Northern Lights" off his similarly titled new project. Directed by Kron, it shows Kindgom out and about in the snow-covered streets. Seemingly unwilling to let up on the gas, Kingdom keeps the new releases rolling.

In a 2014 interview with XXL, Kingdom said that his goal in hip-hop is to make everyone feel better. “I feel like agendas have time limits and once that mission is done then it’s done,” he said. “I just know that there’s people that lack things or don’t have things or do have things and for lack of a better term I just want to make them feel better about themselves. That’s what I like doing the most. It’s why I like making music the most. When I get letters or feedback about something that made someone else feel good is the best feeling.”
