Mick Jenkins was inspired by TheSenseiBlue's "On the Map" and decided to create his own version of the song. The Chicago rapper is calling this new release a cover because it does reuse a lot of the same ideas as TheSenseiBlue's original. But for this reworked track, Mick Jenkins enlists the help of Canandian jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD to make it his own. The results are pretty good even if it is not drastically different from the original.

This is the latest creation from Mick Jenkins as the MC dropped two tracks with theMIND just a few weeks ago. While he hasn't made an announcements yet, many fans are hopeful that 2016 will see Mick Jenkins release his first full-length album.

Mick Jenkins has made a quick impact in a relatively short amount of time with the releases of his 2014 EP The Water[s] and last year's follow-up Wave[s] EP. Both projects have shown that Mick Jenkins is one of the brightest stars in hip-hop today while also making it clear that he's capable of much more. As part of Jonny Shipes' Cinematic Music Group roster, Jenkins is surrounded by a ton of equally talented artisits including fellow Chicagoan G Herbo.

We'll have to wait and see if 2016 brings the next evolution of Mick Jenkins to the forefront. In the meantime, fans can enjoy offerings like "On the Map" as just a hint of what's to come in the future.
