Where T-Pain's music once seemed as if it would be a relic of its time, it instead seems as if it's going to hold up indefinitely. His inhuman run of hits during the Bush administration can still be tapped into as a reliable jolt of life to any party or mix show, and it goes without saying that his influence stretches far and wide, both in rap and in R&B. Starting last year, the Autotune pioneer has mounted a comeback with an NPR Tiny Desk concert and a series of singles, a mixtape and has an album--Stoicville: The Phoneix-- slated for next month. Now comes "Whatever I Want," a collaboration with Classixx. The song premiered via Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio and can be streamed below. The airy track gives Mr. Pain plenty of space to show off his vocal range.
