Remember when skinny joints were a sticking point in hip-hop? For Rich Homie Quan, they're not a musical or political statement--they're just hard to wear. "Bankroll," a new single from the Atlanta savant, comes produced by Goose, who handled four tracks on Rich Gang's Tha Tour, Part One mixtape, including two of Quan's solo cuts. (The beatsmith also collaborated with Dun Deal, London on da Track and Isaac Flame for "Flava," which became a minor hit.) On "Bankroll," Quan laments that his pockets are so stuffed, he can't walk straight or sit comfortably. There are also barbs for teachers, school counselors and anyone who suggests he use a credit card instead. Though his single "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" seemed to have him poised for a big summer, Quan is now embroiled in a legal battle with Think It's a Game Entertainment, the label that allegedly owes him money for "Flex," "Type of Way" and the Def Jam distribution deal the latter secured.
