Hip-hop lost one of its legends Saturday, Aug. 8, when Brooklyn native Sean Price unexpectedly died in in his sleep at the age of 43. The hip-hop community was greatly sadden after news spread that the Boot Camp Clik rapper passed away. Yesterday (Aug 12), Mac Miller dropped a track featuring the late Brownsville MC. Now today fans get bittersweet news that Duck Down Music will release Price's mixtape Songs in the Key of Price on Aug. 21. Duck Down releases the first single off the tape titled "Planet Apes," a gritty lyrical flex that showcases why he was so important in hip-hop. "The ape is grape, the papes I make is great/The weight I brake on plates is shake, don't hate/The flow is straight so don't debate/I'm holding cake, unload the eight, but hold your face," raps Sean on the PF Cuttin-produced track. Songs in the Key of Price will be available through the Duck Down shop in a variety of different bundles, according to Rolling Stone

Following Sean P's death, Duck Down Music started a crowd fundraiser in his honor. As of Today (Aug 13), the fundraiser has collected over $78,000. Cuttin and Statik Selektah will host a Price memorial concert on Aug. 27 at New York's SOB's. Visit Ticketweb for ticket information for the tribute show. Graffiti artist and former 5 Pointz curator Meres One created a mural of Price on a street corner in Crown Heights. Check out those pictures here.
