Once upon a time, Papoose was New York's Next Great Hope. The mixtape workhorse hit the city (and the Internet) with a barrage of material, all of it punchline-laden, most of it with just a bit of a revivalist bent. However, label red tape and the shifting landscape of hip-hop forced him to recede into the background, for a time disappearing altogether. But later this week--on the new Friday (July 17) release day, in fact--you'll be able to cop Papoose's sophomore album in stores. You Can't Stop Destiny features fellow New York traditionalists Maino, Red Cafe and Troy Ave, alongside A.G. and others. But on "Michael Jackson," Pap is eager to show off his relationship with his ride-or-die, Remy Ma. Anchored by a hook from the ageless Ty Dolla $ign (guess which MJ song the hook references?), the cut is a pretty straightforward ode to marital bliss: "She cook my food/She clean my clothes/I massage her feet/And kiss her toes."
