Odd Future's Hodgy Beats gets his time to shine with his new Don Cannon-hosted mixtape, Dena Tape 2. With features, beats and guest appearances from Hit-Boy, Sap, Marvel Alexander and Odd Future teammates Domo Genesis and Left Brain Dena Tape 2 puts the current crop of West Coast young'ns on display. The tape is a nice mix of new songs and freestyles over instrumentals like Kendrick Lamar's "Sing About Me" and Lupe Fiasco's "Coulda Been."

It's been about five years since Hodgy released the first Dena Tape and he has dropped a plethora of solo projects like Untitled 2, MellowHype albums and loosies since. The release of Dena Tape 2 follows up on the heels of Mike G's Award Tour II and Domo Genesis' Under The Influence 2. While fans wait for an official Odd Future group release, some of the lesser known members are starting to get a push which is a plus for the OF brand overall.

The Don Cannon co-sign is a great look for Hodgy as well. Cannon, who serves as the Def Jam VP of A&R, has hosted mixtapes with some of the biggest rappers in the game. Cannon has hosted and produced for Young Jeezy, OutKast, Lil Wayne, DJ Drama, G-Unit, T.I., Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa and many, many others. He is likely best known for producing the "Cannon (Remix)" from DJ Drama's 2007 album Gangsta Grillz: The Album.
