Atlanta's Johnny Cinco is not content to play the background. His new single, "She Wanna," is another step in separating himself form the crowded pack in his city, which is distinguishing itself as the home for hip-hop's cutting edge in 2015. His mixtape, I Swear, is due out next week (on Feb. 9); if "She Wanna" (and his previous single, the Peewee Longway-featuring "On The Line") are any indication, Johnny Cinco is going to become a distinct figure in the 404. The Spiffy-produced cut revels in its negative space, creating a slasher flick-like backdrop over which Cinco hits his vicious slurs to chilling effect. The rapper remains an unbridled piece of id, flitting around angry synths and foreboding keys.
