Gucci Mane's Brick Factory 3 was expected to drop today (Feb 2); at press time, there was no word as to whether that release is going forward as planned. In lieu of that, Gucci gives us "Down On That," a stellar Young Thug-assisted cut that makes the most out of Guwop's brief appearance.

As he has during most of his previous incarcerations, Gucci Mane has maintained a prolific output. Last May, the face tattoo enthusiast was sentenced to roughly two years in prison for possession of a firearm; a convicted felon already by that point, Gucci is not allowed to own a weapon in the state of Georgia. The "Lemonade" rapper accepted a plea deal that landed him in jail until late 2016, although he has since claimed that his release has been moved forward to this year.

Last month, Gucci's team released 1017 Mafia: Incarcerated, a full-length project that includes a small army of A-list guest spots. Prior to that, Christmas saw East Atlanta Santa, a disarmingly consistent LP.

As for "Down On That," Thugga continues to prove that Gucci's eye for talent is unimpeachable. The 22-year-old who has taken over hip-hop over the past 18 months--and who named his breakthrough mixtape 1017 Thug--turns in a sterling verse and hook here, channeling Gucci and the Animaniacs and a mainline feed of helium in the process. Gucci's verse is a clear thesis: Gucci sleeps with the bread. He gets money every day of the week. You can lock him up, but you can't stop him.
