Let's just say the visuals for Run The Jewels' "Lie, Cheat, Steal" is pretty trippy. It's like you're wearing a pair of drunk goggles while watching an episode of Adult Swim's Superjail! "Lie, Cheat, Steal" is both a lyrical flex and a catchy tune by the dynamic duo of Killer Mike and El-P. With lyrics like "And I love Dr. King but violence might be necessary / Cause when you live on MLK and it gets very scary / You might have to pull your AK, send one to the cemetery," how can one not love this record. The scenes in the video itself is not all that complicated. It's basically Mike and El just rapping in front of a graffiti-covered back ally. However, the visual effects to the video are what take this music video from ordinary to extraordinary.

The cartoonish treatment matches the vibe from "Lie, Cheat, Steal," which they performed on Conan not too long ago. The record is off the universally critically album Run The Jewels 2. Seriously, if you haven't checked it out yet. Just take a hour out of your day and sit down and listen to it. In an interview with XXL in August, El-P called it “relentless," which it surely is. RTJ2 is completely left field of what anybody else is doing in hip-hop right now and it's beautiful to listen to. Killer Mike and El-P are rapping on a different level and it's really fun to watch them. What's also spectacular about the veteran duo is that they are creating a cat-inspired LP entitled Meow The Jewels. EL-P recently took to Instagram to show off some snippets of some instrumentals he has been putting together for the project. In a series of three videos, El gives us a glimpse of how the project will sound.
