Vic Mensa experimental tendencies are still here as he takes a side step from house to indulge in something more serene. The XXL Freshman joined frequent collaborator Mihael Uzowuru and Donnie Trumpet for "April 13th" — a previously unreleased track. Spring is on its way, and Mensa and co. are feeling the bloom: "I woke up and the butterflies/ Cocoon-covered in cosmic darkness." It's not an indicator of where Mensa is at now, but it's still a worthwhile listen.
