Juice Wrld's tragic passing has shocked the hip-hop community. Now his record label, Interscope Geffen A&M Records, has released a statement to XXL on the rapper's death.

"Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time," the statement reads. "He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else. To lose someone so kind and so close to our hearts is devastating. Our thoughts are with Juice’s family and friends, everyone at his label Grade A, and his millions of fans around the world."

On Sunday (Dec. 8), Juice, born Jarad Higgins, suffered from a seizure after landing at Chicago's Midway Airport following a private flight from California, reports The New York Times. According to witnesses, the seizure happened as the rapper was at the airport and caused him to bleed from the mouth. Paramedics and police descended upon the scene and transported the Chicago artist to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m. He was 21.

His death was confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Illinois. A cause of death is pending a forthcoming autopsy report.

Juice, who covered the current issue of XXL Magazine, just celebrated his 21st birthday on Dec. 2, and was prepping the release of his third album. Many in the hip-hop community have hopped on social media to pay homage to the talented MC.

XXL sends condolences to the family and friends of Juice Wrld.
