La Flame takes home a BET Hip Hop Award.

At Atlanta's Cobb Energy Center this past Saturday (Oct. 5), Travis Scott was announced as the winner of the Album of the Year trophy for the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. The awards show aired on Tuesday night.

Meek Mill (Championships), Lizzo (Cuz I Love You), DJ Khaled (Father of Asahd), Tyler, The Creator (Igor) and Dreamville (Revenge of the Dreamers 3) were other nominees for the trophy. La Flame was facing some serious competition, so this win isn't a small one.

With its cosmic sounds and Scott's metallic vocals, it's no surprise that Astroworld has been Scott's most critically and commercially successful LP to date. Before it was released in August 2018, Scott had already established himself as a rap star. Upon its release, though, he was elevated to another level after the LP moved 537,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

Now Scott, who toured to support his album throughout the end of last year and some of this year, just adds another trophy to his shelf. Salute.
