The Gucci Mane biopic is currently in the works and the Atlanta legend has an idea on who should play the leading role.

In an interview with Apple Music's Beats 1 Ebro Darden that was published on Wednesday (Oct. 23), Guwop said that if he couldn't hold down the role himself, he'd want Power star Omari Hardwick to play the leading role in a Gucci biopic.

“I feel like Ghost should play me in the end,” Gucci said, indicating he'd be cool with Hardwick playing an adult Guwop. “I like him, he’s a good actor.”

Ebro then asked Gucci to clarify which actor he's referring to, and that's when Gucci confirmed that he was speaking on Hardwick.

Gucci also added that he would like to see Snowfall actor Damson Idris play him as a teenager. “The dude from Snowfall and Ghost I feel like is Gucci,” he said.

The Gucci Mane biopic is said to be based on the Neil Martinez-Belkin-co-scribed book, The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, which was released in September 2017. The New York Times bestseller chronicles the Alabama-born rapper's personal and professional years.

Paramount Pictures is teaming up with Imagine Entertainment to bring the biopic to the big screen. Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins will produce the project with Gucci and Todd Moskowitz on board as executive producers.

Gucci told Ebro that the producers are still writing a script for it. There's no release date for the film as of yet.
