6ix9ine’s Former Associate Gets Reduced Prison Sentence After Renouncing Nine Trey Gang, Being Stabbed: Report

A former 6ix9ine associate reportedly catches a break for his prison sentence.

According to a report from Inner City Press, former Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods member Roland "Ro Murda" Martin prison sentence was reduced from 90 to 66 months during a hearing at Manhattan's Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse on Thursday (Oct. 10). The lighter sentence was reportedly handed down after Martin's attorney, Maxwell Bryer told the judge the defendant was stabbed nine times in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center for renouncing Nine Trey on May 30.

According to Page Six, Bryer said Martin suffered from two collapsed lungs, a lacerated liver and a wrist wound in the attack. Bryer also said Martin nearly died because “someone forgot to bring an oxygen tank.”

Martin pleaded guilty to multiple charges including racketeering conspiracy and firearm offenses on June 27. He'd originally pleaded not guilty to the charges on April 30.

This news comes two days after 6ix9ine's sentencing date was moved up from Jan. 24, 2020 to Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. EST. The embattled rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, was initially facing nearly 47 years in prison for racketeering and other charges after being arrested in November of 2018. His decision to cooperate with the government and testify against his former associates, Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack, in their racketeering trial could lead to his sentence being reduced.

In addition, Tekashi apparently signed a $10 million record deal with 10K Projects, a record label he'd been signed to before he was incarcerated. The deal consists of two albums—one in English and one in Spanish.
