Newcomer Lil Tecca's new mixtape We Love You Tecca has cracked the top five of the Billboard 200 chart this week.

The 16-year-old Queens, N.Y. native's project debuted in the No. 4 spot by moving 68,000 equivalent album units. Of that tally, 4,000 came from album sales. Streaming helped push the record into the top five. It pulled in streaming totals equaling 100.5 million on-demand audio streams for its tracks spearheaded by the single "Ran$om."

The news comes on the heels of Tec hinting at quitting rap on Twitter just a few days ago.

“Could care less bout sum $$ if im not happy,” Tecca tweeted on Thursday (Sept. 5). “Hate this shit. I love y’all but this shit won’t b continuing as long as y’all thought.”

He later added, “At least I tell y’all what ima do before I do it. There’s like 30 other rappers that sound just like me y’all will b good.”

Tecca appears to have a promising career ahead of him if he stays the course. In a short amount of time, he has garnered a huge buzz and millions of streams via singles like “Love Me,” “My Time,” “Count Me Out" and the aforementioned "Ran$om," which has a remix featuring Juice Wrld.

Other hip-hop artists in the top 10 this week include Young Thug (So Much Fun, No. 5), Lizzo (Cuz I Love You, No. 6), Chris Brown (Indigo, No. 8) and Travis Scott (Astroworld, No. 10).
