Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" is No. 1 no more.

According to Billboard's Monday afternoon (Aug. 19) report, the rapper's breakout single has dropped down to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was dethroned by Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," which shot up from No. 2 to No. 1 on the chart this week. It sits directly behind Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's "Señorita," which now holds down the No. 2 spot on the chart. Nas X's reign atop the Hot 100 lasted for 19 weeks.

While Lil Nas X's single is no longer No. 1, it's clear the song's impact was massive. For the 20-year-old rapper, the song's rise was a sign that he'd finally figured things out musically.

"Everything's starting to connect—my love for music and my brain for the internet," Nas X told XXL in an interview this past April. "Just like how my dad does music and everything was clicking. I'm not too superstitious. It was just a definite type of thing. It was like, this is gonna happen, it's gonna happen soon. Somehow, someway, it did... My dad's name is Robert Stafford. His music name is R.L. Stafford, he makes gospel music."

For her part, Eilish has also recently started to see the fruits of her hard work. While not a hip-hop artist, the singer has long been a rap fan and has collaborated with the likes of Denzel Curry and more. In an interview for the summer 2019 edition of XXL Magazine, she explained her first experiences with the genre.

"I remember I was sitting on the corner of my bed; I think I was 11," she remembered. "My brother has always been a big influence with everything in my life. He’s like, four years older than me. So, he would download music. And back then, you couldn’t just stream shit; you had to buy it or whatever. So, I had this whole library of music I didn’t know because [we shared] the same account. And I remember… I think at the time, it was one album, which is Camp by Donald Glover [Childish Gambino]. I remember sitting on the corner of my bed and “Heartbeat” came on and I was like, Whoa. I sat there in awe and I just felt like I had been completely missing a world, you know? I really was like, Oh, shit. This is what I’ve been missing. This is what I like.

Congrats to both Billie and Lil Nas X on their success.
