Iggy Azalea Says She “Can’t Be That F*!king Sorry” About Making Music Her Way

UPDATE: Iggy has stepped forward to say that some quotes used in the Cosmopolitan profile weren't attributed to things she was actually talking about.

Speaking on the matter and seemingly a part that suggests she thinks cultural appropriation is subjective. In the tweet, Iggy wrote:

"I noticed in the article some of our conversation was attributed to subjects I wasn’t asked about/ intending to commenting on. To clarify: I was asked how I deal with hate.
My response? it’s easier to deal with when you consider art subjective/a matter of personal taste."

Iggy Azalea has faced tons of criticism since she first burst on the scene years ago, but she isn't about to change up.

In an interview Cosmopolitan published on Tuesday (Aug. 6), Iggy spoke on the idea of subjectivity and how just because someone is offended by one thing doesn't mean other people will also be.

“You could ask one person of the same race, ‘Does this affect you?’ and they will say yes,” the Aussie rapper explains. “You could ask one person of the same race, ‘Does this affect you?’ and they will say yes,” she explains. “But another person will say no. They could be from the same place, same everything, but have different perspectives about it.”

While people might throw criticism her way, Iggy says she's not about to switch up. “I’m still going to make the same type of music and still be ridiculous and larger than life,” she says. “So I can’t be that fucking sorry about it."

Elsewhere in the interview, the 2012 XXL Freshman talks about her relationship with her current boyfriend Playboi Carti. The Aussie rapper left Los Angeles so she could with Carti in Atlanta. Iggy hopes that she and Carti are still together 10 years from now, even if they don't get married. She also added that she would love to be a mom someday.

Iggy's love for Carti is so strong, she recently touted that her boyfriend's upcoming album, Whole Lotta Red, is better than anything out right now. "I can tell you Whole Lotta Red is amazing and it's next level and it's way better than anything any of the other people I heard doing, for real," she told Men's Health in an interview published last Friday.
