Danny Brown doesn't believe that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in jail.

The Detroit rapper stopped by Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning on Wednesday (Aug. 28) to discuss his forthcoming album, and at one point during the 25-minute chat, the topic of Epstein came up. Brown, who has an 18-year-old daughter, doesn't see it fitting to make jokes about anything involving someone convicted of child sex trafficking, but he did have a theory about Epstein's death.

"I'm just saying, I know as me, I've been..." Brown started. "You can't kill yourself in county jail. They take everything from you! You get what I'm saying? Cuz ain't dead. I'm just saying."

When asked by co-host Peter Rosenberg if he truly believes that Epstein didn't commit suicide, Brown doubled down on his theory.

"Hell no! He on an island right now, kicked up with the motherfucking toes out!" he replied. He let co-host Laura Stylez know that he doesn't agree with the theory that he was murdered either.

Jeffrey Epstein was reportedly found dead by suicide in his jail cell on Aug. 10, three weeks after he'd been found unconscious in his cell with marks on his neck from an apparent failed suicide attempt. Because of the first incident, Epstein was on suicide watch at the time, leaving many to believe that there was some sort of cover-up happening.

In related Danny Brown news, the Detroit rapper is currently working with Q-Tip on his forthcoming album, U Know What I’m Sayin?. The project will be his first in over three years, following 2016's Atrocity Exhibition.
