UPDATE:
Comedian Dina Hashem has offered a statement about her joke on XXXTentacion's death that she received tons of backlash for. On Friday night (July 19), Hashem acknowledged making a mistake on Instagram.

"I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings, that's never what I want," she posted. "I am a comic and use jokes to make dark topics less painful but I realize not everyone feels that way, and don't want anyone to feel badly. It was taken down and won't air on TV."

See Hashem's post below.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A year after XXXTentacion’s tragic death, friends and family are still mourning the late Florida rapper. However, comedian Dina Hashem seems to find his death a laughing matter.

On Friday (July 19), Comedy Central's Twitter account featured a brief video from their program This Week at the Comedy Cellar, which included Hashem as the headliner. In the clip, the comic talks about XXX’s death and says she thinks the incident surrounding the rapper's tragic demise would make a good commercial for Venmo, the mobile payment service owned by PayPal.

“Is anyone still mourning XXXTentacion?” she asked the crowd. “He’s a rapper, who was murdered, he’s dead now. He was shot, he was on his way to buy a car with $50,000 in cash and somebody shot him and took the money. Which is very tragic, but I also think it would be a very good Venmo commercial. That’s the first thing I thought when I heard that. Like, 'I don’t have Venmo, I should get Venmo.'"

Catching wind of the video, XXXTentacion’s friend and former collaborator Ski Mask The Slump God jumped on his Twitter page with his response to Hashem's joke. “Y’all Take A Look At This Clown,” he tweeted along with the offending clip.

DJ Scheme, who was XXX's DJ, didn't find Hashem's joke funny either. "FUCK THIS PUSSY ASS HOE," he tweeted.
