Congratulations are in order for Lil Nas X!

On Monday (July 1), Billboard confirmed that the rapper's breakout single, "Old Town Road," has officially topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 13 weeks—making it the longest-running No. 1 hip-hop record ever. The song surpassed three songs with 12 weeks at the top: Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" with Charlie Puth in 2015, The Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" in 2009 and Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in 2002.

As for an all-time record, Lil Nas X still has a few more weeks to go. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" featuring Justin Bieber tied the record for longest-running No. 1 of any genre with 16 weeks in 2017. The rapper is still only the twelfth person to ever top the charts for this long, and with the wave he's on, it seems likely that he will be breaking even more records soon!

In related news, Lil Nas X seemingly came out on the last day of Pride Month (June 30). In a series of tweets, LNX shared an animated video for his song "C7osure" and alluded to the fact he's been making his sexuality obvious for some time now.

"some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure," Lil Nas X wrote with the animated video and added a rainbow emoji. "deadass thought i made it obvious," he added later with a close up of a rainbow building in the background of the cover of his new EP, 7.

7 also makes its debut on the charts this week, coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 77,000 equivalent album units. Congrats to Lil Nas X on all of the accomplishments!
