Joyner Lucas wants to help cover the costs of a funeral for a fallen, aspiring rapper from his hometown.

MassLive reports today (July 5) that the Worcester, Mass. rapper offered to pay for the funeral services for 18-year-old Tafar Lewis, who was gunned down at 10:25 p.m. during a Worcester fireworks show Tuesday night (July 2). Lucas apparently saw the news and wanted to do something about the death of the teen, who rapped under the name June Valentino.

"‍Senseless.. I wanna pay for his funeral. if you know his family, have them reach out to Danny Diaz and il take care of it," Lucas wrote on Facebook.

This news arrives a couple of months after the arrival of Lucas' controversial "Devil's Work" video. The visual, which calls out polarizing pop culture figures, left plenty of people upset. After an official for the church the video was filmed at seemingly spoke down on the visual, Lucas claimed that the church was aware of what he was doing with the visual and that he even paid them to use the spot.

"They knew what was going on," Lucas told TMZ on May 11. "As a matter of fact, they got paid. I think they were aware. They were aware for sure."

There's no confirmation on whether the family has accepted Lucas' offer yet. Either way, it's a dope gesture from one Worcester resident to another. See Joyner Lucas' post below.
