G-Eazy wants to portray the King of Rock, Elvis Presley.

According to a report TMZ published today (July 8), the Bay Area spitta is gunning to be considered for the lead role in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming biopic about the life and times of Elvis Presley.

So far, five actors have reportedly auditioned for the role of Elvis including pop star Harry Styles, Miles Teller, Austin Butler, Aaron Taylor-Johnson of Avengers: Age of Ultron fame and star of the new West Side Story remake, Ansel Elgort. Although Gerald wasn't an option before, the "1942" rapper hopes to be considered soon.

The celebrity news site reports that G-Eazy has had several meetings with Warner Bros. about the role. He reportedly has met with the director of the film Baz Luhrmann in an effort to emphasize how serious he is about playing the American icon on the big screen.

Playing a musical legend in a movie would be a big step forward for G-Eazy, who's known for making hit songs instead of any acting chops. So far, the rapper hasn't really flexed his acting muscles. Maybe he'll get the chance soon.
