Nicki Minaj has some words for the folks behind the 2019 BET Awards.

The rapper, who just released her new single "Megatron," was noticeably absent from the annual awards show this past Sunday (June 23). In a tweet posted to her Twitter account on Thursday morning (June 27), Minaj called out the people behind the show and shaded them over their reported dismal ratings.

"When u go out of ur way to b spiteful & hurt artists who have always supported ur show..." Minaj wrote, RTing a news post that said Sunday's show had experienced its lowest ratings to date. "when you fire great ppl who have put their heart & soul into the show... when you’d rather be a messy reality show than a prestigious award show... when ur still being dragged by that lace."

Though Nicki performed at last year's awards, the relationship with BET has soured since. Back in February, a tweet from the network's official Twitter account promoting an article about Cardi B becoming the first female rapper to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys included a dig at Nicki's expense.

"Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront," the tweet read.

Of course, Nicki was less than pleased with the arbitrary disrespect and promptly pulled out of a scheduled performance at the 2019 BET Experience concert.

While Nicki references a report that says the 2019 BET Awards underperformed, the folks behind the show say this year's awards was viewed by 12.7 million people across Viacom's eight channels. They also say it was the most-watched awards show for people between the ages of 18 and 49.
