See Forbes Richest Rappers in 2019

Another year, another round of the usual suspects at the top of Forbes' annual richest rappers list.

Though the order shifted a bit, newly-minted billionaire Jay-Z, Diddy and Dr. Dre live in the top three spots for 2019, while Drake and Kanye West trail just behind them.

Diddy was ahead of Hov in 2017, but that shifted in 2018 and remained the same for 2019. Now that he's billionaire status, Jay-Z sits comfortably in the top spot with that B next to his dollar sign. As for Diddy, he falls to number three this year with $740 million, as Dre inched in front of him with $800 million. Behind them sits Kanye with $240 million and Drake with $150 million.

The finance site calculates the list by "poring over financial documents, valuing major assets, and consulting with analysts, managers, attorneys and other industry insiders." It was that analysis that led the publication to conclude that Jay-Z was a billionaire.

In a report Forbes published at the top of the month, it was said that Hov's wealth comes from his stakes in a variety of companies as well as his own music. That list includes Armand de Brignac champagne ($310 million), cash and investments ($220 million), D’Ussé ($100 million), Tidal ($100 million), Roc Nation ($75 million), his own music catalog ($75 million), art collection ($70 million) and real estate ($50 million).
