It feels like the time is now for teenage rappers. There are plenty of young spitters around the world thriving in hip-hop. Splurge, a 17-year-old Arlington, Tx., native, is on quite a hot streak. His menacing threats and stop-and-go flows have helped his music bubble in his city, turning him into a magnetic young talent. Nearly every video he's dropped goes up, especially the 2018 release "Intro Part 2," which is approaching 8 million views.

In 2017, Splurge recorded a song to perform at his 16th birthday party. The celebration never happened, though, yet he released the song anyway, picking up momentum in his hometown. He never looked back from there, releasing a flurry of 2018 projects, from Glockeeeee, Glen Baby, No Melody to Splurge Go!

Now with a scheduled tour to support his upcoming project Glen Baby 2, plus a feature on Rico Nasty's Anger Management, Splurge is rolling and has no plans of letting up on the gas.

Age: 17

Hometown: Arlington, Tx.

I grew up listening to: "Mainly Bankroll Fresh. I grew up on a lot Boosie [BadAzz]. That's really all I listened to. I used to like Bankroll Fresh because Atlanta reminds me of my city. His rapping and shit, I connected it to what was going on in my environment. Boosie gave me that part of me that made me wanna splurge—[he] had hella money, pull[ed] up in the newest Camaros and shit."

My style’s been compared to: "I ain't really seen nobody comparing me to nobody. You gotta compare other niggas to me. My fans really don't compare me to nobody. They just gave me my own lane."

My standout records are: "'Free Grammy,' 'Intro Part 2' of course. I perform that shit [and] they go crazy."

My most slept-on song is: "'Racks.' I dropped the video like three months after. If I would've dropped it a week after the song came out, that would've been one of them ones. That song would've been special."

My standout moments to date have been: "Just being able to buy all the shit that I could buy and do some of the shit that I could do. I buy a lot of shoes."

Most people don’t know: "I really don't be taking this shit that serious. People prolly think, you know, this shit just a sport, this fun, ain't that serious to me. I just know this gon' make me some money at the end of the day."

I’m going to blow up because: "The way I do this shit. Sometimes I could take this shit over the top serious; sometimes I can play with this shit. When I take it over the top serious, can't nobody get in the way. Once I can invest 100 percent of my time into this, niggas gon' have to move out the way."

I’m going to be the next: "Michael Jordan. I'ma have seven rings, shoes named after me, shit like that."
