The weather is warming up but it's already been a hot 2019 in these hip-hop streets. We are not even halfway through the year and some of the biggest headlines have included rappers involved in highly publicized shootings.

Nipsey Hussle’s death shocked the rap world and beyond. The beloved Cali MC was shot and killed on March 31, 2019 in front of his The Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles. Since then, rapper-related shootings have seemingly been happening at an abnormally high rate.

In a rare instance in April, Bun B was able to turn the tables on an armed intruder who forced his way into the rapper’s home. In that circumstance, Bun was the one licking off shots, defending his family and injuring the would-be robber in the process.

In May, YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s crew got into a shootout with another group in front of the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles, Fla. that resulted in one death and two bystanders being injured in the hail of bullets. A few days later, a tour bus owned by Yo Gotti was shot at following a show in Nashville, Tenn. These situations could have turned out a lot worse.
