In the aftermath of Nipsey Hussle's death, artists around the country are mourning him in their own hometowns. Days after Dave East held a vigil for the slain rapper in New York City, Trae Tha Truth hosted his own vigil for Nip in Houston.

FOX 26 Houston reports that hundreds of people congregated at Midtown Park in Houston on Wednesday night (April 3) for a special vigil and balloon release in Nipsey's honor. Earlier that day, Trae posted a flyer to Instagram with the details for the memorial.

"I Need Everyone Of Every Race, Set, Hood, Every Community Activist And Every Fan To Pull Up And Show Him We Rockin For Him Down Here Too!!" Trae said in his Instagram caption. "Everyone Who Know Me Know How I felt About Him And How Close We Were!! The Marathon Continues!!"

In addition to the balloons, fans of the late rapper and community activists also brought electric candles and posters. While some posters were dedicated to Nipsey, others emphasized their wish to end gun violence. Other Texas-based rappers like Slim Thug were also in attendance to mourn Nip.

"I was tuned in and loving everything he was doing," Thug told Fox 26 Houston. "It was beautiful to see a young dude from the West do it like that. Buy his own block, and we was big saluting that. That's definitely boss life."
