Time magazine just released their annual list of their most influential people in the world for 2019, and not a single rapper was included.

On Wednesday (April 17), Time unveiled its 100 Most Influential People of 2019. The list includes a decent amount of artists like Khalid, Taylor Swift, BTS, Ozuna, Ariana Grande and others. However, not one MC was included in the list despite doing so in previous years.

Over the years, a handful of rap stars have been named in Time's coveted list like Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Chance The Rapper and Childish Gambino. Last year, Cardi B and Virgil Abloh were named in the list. Yet, in 2019, Time didn't find any rappers who were influential enough to be included in their list.

"She’s clear on her talent, and she’s not trying to get in anybody else’s lane," actress Taraji P. Henson wrote about Bardi in 2018. "She recorded 'Bodak Yellow' because it’s what she loved. Now she’s the biggest thing in music. And even with all those eyeballs watching, she’s still unapologetically herself."
