ScHoolboy Q's new album CrasH Talk is finally set to drop on Friday (April 26), and it's been a long time coming.

We haven't received a new Q project in nearly four years—but he hasn't just been sitting around. In fact, he just revealed in a new interview with GQ that he recorded and scrapped two full albums worth of material in that time.

"He estimates that he made and discarded two full albums ('They were trash') and completed a third, which he briefly concluded was ready for consumption before labelmates Kendrick and Jay Rock convinced him it wasn't," the GQ interview, published on Wednesday (April 24), reads.

It lines up with Q's social media announcements during that time. Back in September of 2017, a little over a year after the release of his fourth (and as of now most recent) studio album Blank Face, Q made an Instagram post saying that his next album was "90% done." Nothing happened over the course of the next year, and in August of 2018, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith announced on Twitter that Schoolboy Q's next album was "90 to 95 percent complete." Yet there was nothing to follow that–until now.

Finally, almost another full year since the last update, Q is ready to serve up the final product. CrasH Talk will feature appearances by Kid Cudi, YG, 6lack, Ty Dolla $ign, 21 Savage, Lil Baby and Travis Scott, the latter of whom appears on the recently-released album single, "CHopstix."

Earlier this week, Q released another cut from the album, "CrasH." Listen to it here.
