The O'Jays have been cranking out hits like "Cry Together" and "Used To Be My Girl" for decades, so they know a thing or two about what a top-tier artist should sound like. However, it seems like they aren't too hip to music from 2019's biggest names in the rap game.

On Thursday (March 14, ) BuzzFeed's Cocoa Butter debuted their recent interview with the group's founding members Eddie Levert and Walter Williams. In it, the veteran artists, who plan to drop their final album The Last Word on Apr. 19, talk about their thoughts on folks like Travis Scott and Cardi B.

"Ok...um... little more clarity on... what he's saying," Williams said as he took in Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode." "I don't know if it's a speech problem or maybe he meant to say it that way. I didn't see... the crowd... real excited. I didn't even see people bouncing around like they do, and I like that. So I don't know about that one."

"I just don't know if that's for me," Levert added.

Levert and Williams then moved on to Cardi B. It seems as though they are somewhat familiar with the Bronx rapper and her beef with Nicki Minaj. However, after listening to her song "Bodak Yellow," the O'Jays agreed that she's very beautiful but say that her lyrics are a bit much for them.

"I think she's a really great-looking girl. Her name is Cardi B right?" Levert said. "They got a feud going on between her and this other girl, and they don't like each other. So they've been dissin' each other. For young people they like that. I just think the lyrics are a bit too explicit to me."
