It's been a minute since we heard from OG Maco and now we know why. The Atlanta rapper recently broke his silence and revealed that he has been suffering from a skin-eating disease for the past few months.

Maco hopped on his Instagram Story on Saturday night (March 9) to break the news to fans. In the graphic photos, the "U Guessed It" rapper shows off massive scabbing on his face and head, a result of what he says was improper treatment for something small.

"So much healing has occurred thanks to God and my doctors that I'm willing to show all a fraction of what I've been going through," he wrote. "I was improperly treated for a minor rash and ended up with a skin-eating disease for the last few months. This is the best it's looked. I hope it gives someone hope."

In a second photo, Mac wrote about the struggle he's been going through. "I've been going through this alone 90% of the time, without the support of the person I love, without the support of my 'friends.' Without anything but my own strength and God."

Mac went into further detail on video saying at one point he feared he would lose his entire face.

It's been a rough past couple of years. Back in 2016, the former XXL Freshman nearly lost his eye as the result of a car accident. Doctors were able to save it through surgery. Maco was quiet on the music front all last year and claimed he would retire from rap after 2018.
