LeBron James entered the NBA in 2003, the same year that OutKast's diamond-selling Speakerboxxx/The Love Below double album was released. It's fitting, then, that 'Bron's latest Nike sneaker release, the LeBron 16 Low Soundtrack, the release date for which was announced Monday (March 11), is an ode to the classic double album that spawned hits like "Hey Ya," "Roses" and "The Way You Move" 16 years ago.

With a white, black and tan colorway, the Soundtracks also feature a graffiti-style crown with "23" written on it on the heel patch. The design is inspired by the OutKast album's artwork. Another nod to the cover is on the insoles, as one is pink and the other is red. In case you didn't know, the double album includes a split cover, with 3 Stacks' half (The Love Below) being shaded pink and Big Boy's half (Speakerboxxx) being shaded red. The sneaker will be released on March 28 and its retail price is set at $160.

As we alluded to up top, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is an album that many consider to be a classic. With a bevy of chart-topping hits and fearless musical experimentation, the LP marked the apex of OutKast's powers as a group. Unfortunately for fans of 'Dre and Big Boi, though, that was their final non-soundtrack album.

While fans have been clamoring for a new OutKast project for well over a decade, there's really been no signs of a new project happening. Now, fans can only dream.

Getting back to LeBron, the living NBA legend recently made some headlines when it was revealed that he'd A&R'd 2 Chainz's Rap or Go to the League album. Between that revelation and these new shoes, it's clear LeBron remains a devoted lover of hip-hop.
