The Young Money squad just acquired two more plaques for their collection. Both Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V and Nicki Minaj's Queen, released in September and August respectively, were certified platinum by the RIAA on Friday (Jan. 11).

The oft-delayed and highly anticipated Tha Carter V premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, with 480,000 equivalent album sales. That tally marked the third biggest sales week for an album in all of 2018, while its 433 million on-demand streams it accrued over the seven day stretch made for the second biggest streaming week ever for an album. The 21-track project features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, XXXTentacion and more, as well as production from some of hip-hop's biggest producers, including Mannie Fresh and Zaytoven. With Weezy's rabid fan base, dope features and years of anticipation at his back, it's no wonder his latest LP went platinum.

As for Nicki's Queen, the project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 — just behind Travis Scott's Astroworld in its second week, which resulted in a bit of controversy. With a solid 185,000 equivalent album units, the album was certified gold by the RIAA within less than a month.
