Lil Wayne pays tribute to a rising superstar gone too soon with a new video for "Don't Cry," an XXXTentacion-featured song from Weezy's Tha Carter V album. Tunechi dropped off the video at midnight today (Jan. 23).

In the visual, Weezy finds himself inhabiting a mystical world filled with sages. Throughout the video, which was directed by Jay and Georgio Rodriguez, Weezy is either sitting on a throne or kicking it with a lady as he mouths the lyrics to the song.

The XXX tribute comes in spurts throughout the video as archival footage of X in concert flashes across the screen. The video ends with a crowd chanting "Long live X."

The track itself is one that finds X belting out a passionate hook with instructions to hold your tears back. On his end of things, Weezy spits bars about his struggles over the last few years.

“Don't call it a comeback/It was dark, now the sun back/Hit me hard, but I punched back
The wheels fell off, I rode the hubcap,” Wayne raps on the track.

Weezy will perform "Don't Cry" at the X Games in Aspen on Friday (Jan. 25). Fans can tune in to ESPN on Friday night to view Wayne's live interview and performance.
