After the success of their collaborations “Take a Step Back” and “RIP Roach,” supporters of both XXXTentacion and Ski Mask The Slump God will get another collaboration they’ve been waiting for from the two rappers with the release of Members Only Vol. 4 later this month.

Although they'd seemingly ended their perceived feud when they reunited for a performance at the 2018 Rolling Loud Festival in Miami during May of that year, Ski Mask and XXX weren't on the best terms at the time X was shot and killed in a robbery on June 18, 2018. When X passed, hope for a new collaboration between the two had seemingly vanished. Now, it's returned, as Members Only's Kid Trunks promises a new collab featuring both X and Ski Mask on the forthcoming Members Only Vol. 4 project.

Speaking to XXL, 18-year-old Florida rapper Kid Trunks reveals that the new project, which will drop on Jan. 23—what would have been X's 21st birthday—will feature at least one song with "Ski and [X] together."

Rap fans were aware of Ski Mask and X’s longtime friendship before the two artists parted ways in 2017, when Ski publicly said he was distancing himself from X in the fall of that year. After that point, the two rappers didn't publicly interact all that much—aside from a social media spat—until their 2018 Rolling Loud performance in Miami. In a May 2018 interview with Lyrical Lemonade, a month before X died, Ski said he was unsure of whether or not he and X would hang out or make any new music together in the future.

However, in a December 2018 interview with Beats 1 Radio's Travis Mills, five months after X passed away, Ski revealed that X's vocals were supposed to be on Stokeley, a debut album Ski released at the end of November 2018. He went on to say a new X collab could still happen. Maybe that theoretical collab is what Trunks is talking about.

During the course of a conversation Trunks had with XXL last week, he also talks about the extent of X's contributions to Members Only Vol. 4. He says the new effort will feature a lot of X, but the majority of the material was assembled after the rapper's death.

"It was all done after X passed," Trunks says of Members Only Vol. 4, which is a sequel to 2017's Members Only Vol. 3. While the task of working with a late artist's material is a tricky task, Trunks says the artists in the group Members Only knew what they were doing when they pulled X's vocals into songs.

"We just know our formula," Trunks shares. "Like, our group has a little formula. It's a good formula, and we know it." Considering that X's role was the leader who founded Members Only, Trunks' claim isn't particularly hard to believe.

X put together Members Only around four years ago, and after he first gained national exposure in 2017, the crew also entered the spotlight. Though X is gone in the physical, the group, which includes Kid Trunks, Ski Mask, Craig Xen, Killstation, Coolie Cut, Bass Santana, Flyboy Tarantino, Tankhead and Kin$oul, will help continue to spread his legacy with the release of their new project.

If Trunks has his way, the artistic lessons X taught him will shine through on Moon, which is a new solo project Trunks is set to be dropping soon. As for Trunks’ Moon release, he’s used techniques XXX taught him while creating the Super Saiyan mixtape follow-up.

"Before X passed, he taught me a lot about frequencies and shit," Trunks reveals. "And, really [to] just play around with sounds ...to get into people's minds the right way. To comfort people. To make people feel sad, make people feel happy, maybe even scared."

Trunks continues, "This is bringing out a different side of me that no one really seen ever. I feel like, what I'm bringing to the world once I release this shit is really universal and it's really gonna impact people's lives. I really didn't think I'd be able to sing until like, I really poured my heart out into it."

As was the case with ?, the final LP X released while he was alive, Trunks' Moon features an eclectic roster of guest appearances. On one song, he's got singer Noah Cyrus, the sister of pop star Miley Cyrus. The next, he teams with XXX’s one-time collaborator, drummer Travis Barker. Then, on "Ozone," he links up with Lil Uzi Vert, a person he connected with in the aftermath of X's tragic death.

"I met [Uzi] at the X memorial," discloses Trunks, who says he got vocal lessons from Prince's former singing coach when he was preparing to sing his heart out on his new project. "[Uzi] came through and he paid his respects. From there, he said he wanted to hop on some shit. And plus, I already wanted him to hop on the album anyways."

A release date for Trunks' new project has yet to be revealed, but Members Only Vol. 4 drops this week. See the promo video for Members Only Vol. 4 below.
