21 Savage Has the No. 1 Album for the Second Week in a Row

For the second week in a row, 21 Savage's sophomore album I Am > I Was tops the Billboard 200. The project moved an additional 65,000 equivalent album units this week, reports Billboard.

Last week, the project earned 21 the top spot with a strong debut of 131,000 equivalent album units. That tally consisted of 18,000 worth of traditional album sales. As per usual, the those sales were driven by streams.

I Am > I Was includes features from J. Cole (though not on the CD version), Yung Miami of City Girls, Post Malone, Childish Gambino, Offset, Project Pat, ScHoolboy Q, Young Nudy, Gunna and Lil Baby. Producers enlisted include Metro Boomin, Southside, FKi 1st, Wheezy and more.

This is great news following the slight controversy 21 found himself in a few weeks back. If you recall, the rapper was criticized for perpetuating Jewish stereotypes with his lyric about "Jewish money." The song that includes the lyric is on his I Am > I Was album cut "ASMR," after people took offense following LeBron James' posting of the lyrics. 21 eventually apologized for a reference

It's a good week for hip-hop on the Billboard 200, as just behind 21 is A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie whose Hoodie SZN album holds down the No. 2 spot for the second consecutive week. Elsewhere on the chart is Meek Mill's Championships at No. 3 (up from No. 6 last week), Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys at No. 4 (up from No. 11 last week), Drake’s Scorpion at No. 6 (up from No. 14 last week), Travis Scott’s Astroworld at No. 7 (up from No. 10 last week) and Kodak Black’s Dying to Live remaining steady at No. 9.
